Great excitement as the Bishop arrives.

Bishop Nathan and Maama Peace
enjoy a few moments together.

The Diocesan brass band, Sunday school children and others joined together to provide breakfast entertainment.

This was so precious. These young children danced the traditional Kinyoro dance for the Bishop.

Wild-eyed delight as they welcomed the Bishop.

Rev. Canon Mataata Geoffrey presented 86 candidates
to the Bishop for confirmation.

Lifting high the Word of God as they promise to
live according to His commands.

Laying hands on two of the confirmands.

Schools Ministry
Mabale SS & Naigana SS

Mabale Secondary School

On the way to Naigana, Bishop Nathan made a planned, but unofficial, visit to Mabale SSS. The vehicle was met on the road by hundreds of children from the primary school which is directly across from the secondary school.

Mabale S.S. has over 300 students in S1 to S4 ('O' level) and plan to begin offering S5 next year ('A' level). The school is the recipient of funds from World Bank which enabled them to build these two new classroom blocks.

One of the activities for Bishop Nathan was to offer a prayer of blessing for the candidates who have been preparing diligently for their comprehensive examination known as 'O' level exams. Results of these exams are used to determine future training, academic or vocational.

An artist at Mabale (or maybe several artists) welcomed Bishop Nathan with these words on the blackboard.

NAIGANA

Before arriving at the secondary school, the Bishop visited the Archdeaconry headquarters. They have a building project which is enlarging the current building by adding a vestry and an office for the Archdeacon.

Bishop Nathan prays for the continuing work.

Dancers block the way so the Bishop and his entourage
walked the remaining distance to the school

The candidate class is presented to the Bishop for confirmation

The 17 candidates were prepared by their new chaplain,
 Rev. Deacon Julius Kamuntu

Candidates for 'O' and 'A' level examinations came forward for prayers. The Bishop reminded them that prayer is not magic, passing the exams also takes hard work and much revision.

The Primary school choir entertained.
